Ms. Mari Cindy Ota

I attended Japanese School for 11 years beginning at the nyumon level until I went to UC Berkeley. Throughout those years many Friday nights were spent doing homework, learning kanji, practicing reading, and studying for tests. That isn’t to say there weren’t lots of fun memories as well, including learning to make gyozas, helping out at school fairs, participating in athletic meets, and going on a class trip to San Diego.

Japanese School prepared me for the SAT II and the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test administered by the Japan Foundation. This allowed me to build my resume both for and post college.

Japanese School has been an invaluable part of my education and I would recommend it to anyone who is considering attending.
