Pasadena Gakuen

Learning "Living Japanese" Enjoyably Pasadena Gakuen was founded in 1953, and uses the Pasadena Japanese Community Center facility, which is located in north of Old Pasadena, close to Fair Oaks Avenue on 210 Freeway. Pasadena Gakuen consists of elementary and Jr. High school divisions. Every Saturday morning, students study "living Japanese" willingly. In the morning, the teachers greet students with a smile and teach basic conversations repeatedly starting "good morning" and ending "good-bye". For students who have no Japanese background, a supplemental class is offered to help with homework.

The school puts great efforts in introducing the traditional culture and custom of Japan, and once a month, the teachers bring out a theme and explain it in classes. After school, the flower arrangement class is offered by Kazuyuki Kitajima, Sogetsu School, Chairman of Board of So.Calif. Ikebana Schools.
