Valley
Gakuen
School Built by Parents Themselves
Valley Gakuen is located on Lankershim Blvd., close to Golden
State Freeway in Sun Valley. School is open every Saturday
in the well- equipped Valley Japanese Community Center.
Its
foundation was 50 years ago, since then, school has grown
along with the community center. In 1980, to adjust the
increase in enrollment, the parents of the school built
the new building by themselves. It is the historical event
in the history among Japanese Americans. Valley Gakuen consists
of elementary, Jr. High, and Sr. High school divisions.
From
the 5-year-old Nyumon class, the experienced teachers are
giving "living Japanese" lessons enjoyably. And at the same
time, Valley Gakuen provides a good opportunity to learn
the culture and social customs of Japan. Young parents participate
in school activities willingly and they work hard to make
a better school supporting the teachers.
