Academic Achievement Exhibit:<\/strong>At the end of first semester in December, each school has the Academic Achievement Exhibit in which students show their academic performance through plays and chorus based on their daily activities.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n![\"\"](\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/speech-contest.jpg\")

Speech Contest<\/strong><\/p>\nIn early March, each school has a speech contest to promote the expression of the students\u2019 own opinion and increase their speaking capability. The winners of the speech contest in each grade\/class of every school will get together to compete against each other at the end of March.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
Various Tests and Special courses by Each School<\/h3>\n
1. Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT)<\/strong><\/p>\nThe Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) has been offered in 1984 by the Japan Foundation and Japan Educational Exchanges and Services as a reliable means of evaluating and certifying the Japanese proficiency of non-Japanese speakers. At present, there are about 1,000,000 examinees in the 85 countries around the world. In Japan, the JLPL are used for recognition of academic credit and graduation certification at school and acknowledgement of qualification in society. There are 5 levels from N5 to N1 and you can take any level based on your ability. In Los Angeles, JLPT is held in December every year. Our schools have preparation classes for the levels of 4th, 3rd, 2nd of JLPT test for the students in the junior and senior high school divisions.<\/p>\n
2. High School Credit Test<\/strong><\/p>\nStudents enrolled in one of our schools who are in American high schools could earn high school credit for foreign language by taking a credit test and maintaining the required hours of attendance. At present, the number of American public high schools who can accept the credit for foreign language by taking Japanese language course at an outside private school has become less than before.<\/p>\n
3. SAT Subject Japanese\/AP Japanese
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n(A) SAT Subject Japanese<\/strong>
\nSAT is a test offered by the College Board in the United States as part of college assessment tests. SAT Subject Japanese is taken in November and you may earn the credit of foreign language at your high school if your score is high. Our schools have preparation classes for SAT subject Japanese for the students in the senior high school division.<\/p>\n(B) AP Japanese<\/strong>
\nAP Japanese is a course offered by the College Board as part of the Advanced Placement Program. High school students can take the test in May and earn credit equivalent to the college if the score is more than 3 out of 5 levels.<\/p>\n4. Japanese Language Class for Adults<\/strong><\/p>\nClasses are offered at Pasadena Gakuen for 4 continuing sessions throughout the year, each one 10 weeks in length. But it is possible to join at any time. Whether you fit into Beginner, Intermediate, or advanced classes, you will benefit from carefully selected learning materials and class content that will ensure you learn correct Japanese grammar. Through fun activities with your classmates, our goal is to support the acquisition of \u201cUseful Japanese conversation\u201d skills that are difficult to acquire through self-study.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
